Subject Position

Our subject position is everything that goes to make up what we are and where we fit in the world. My subject position is a female, student, 13 years old in Cornwall.

Someone with the interests in fashion and the actor who has been in films like 'midsommar'  and 'black widow' might be really interested in this magazine and with the more vintage look of the front cover.

Someone who isnt familiar with the actor or not a big film person might think that it looks boring and dull and not be interested in it at all.

Denotation - The dictionary definition

Connotation - The deeper meaning - what we associate with the word or image

• Denote- gun  Connote- death, danger, violence, blood, injury, power, authority.
• Denote- clown  Connote- killer, violence, murder, creepy
• Denote- Thor  Connote The Cape- Power, authority, Royal Connote The hammer- Power, death, strong, Overpowered. Connote The armour- Strength, Protection, God

Connotations:

The mask suggests that there is two of the same person [clone] or doppelganger the mask also suggest a cover up or they are hiding something.

The scary face behind he masksuggests a warning maybe past trauma, the mask is covering up something, she isnt really who she says she is.

The red jumpsuit suggests danger or warning, bad people, death.

The ominous dark backround suggests mystery, scary horror element.

The gloves seem like a very distinct character item and it was put in this poster for a reason.

The whole movie poster gives off a horror mystery and you can tell its a horror movie by its portrayal of the characters facial expressions, clothing and backround.
