 Wednesday 6th October 2021

Learning Objective:

To Analyse a media text using Media Language.

Camera Shot Type: Medium Long Shot

Why this camera Shot?

So that you can see the characters outfit along with his gun and gun holster.

Clothing:

The clothing is very professional but not like what James Bond normally wears which might explain a plot change or anything like that.

Props:

The gun suggests danger maybe a fight upcoming, he has his gun out of his holster so that says that he is ready for action. The gun holster is more of a cowboy style so that might suggest he is an outlaw. His watch also has correlation to the title 'No Time To Die'

Facial expression:

He has a very serious, concentrated look. As if he is on guard of enemies.

Back round:

A very concrete back round the colours gold suggest richness but the back round looks cold.

Diegetic Sounds:

Helicopters- Observing, Escaping, Action

Cars- Getaway Vehicle, Violence, Action

Gunshots- Violence, Enemies, Action

Motorbikes- Getaway Vehicle, Escaping, Trying to get somewhere quick

Glass/Window smashing- Breaking In, Crime, Damage to property, Action

What transitions are used in the scenes and why?

They use fade to black as their basically only transitions. The shot fade to black tells us there is a time gap between the clips that they are showing us.

What happens to the pace of the cuts towards the end? Why?

The cuts get faster, only a few seconds for each clip to show dramatic effect make it seem more action packed as the film concludes.

Camera Shot Type: Close Up

Why this camera shot?

To see the expression on the characters face.

Clothing:

She is wearing a flower made headpiece so that suggests she might be at a festival or some sort of celebration event. Her green top also is a summer colour her colour palate for her clothes is very naturey.

Props:

Her flower head piece is the only visible prop. The flowers on it are bloomed so that suggests that the movie time is set in summer time maybe summer type festival they are at.

Setting/Backround:

The blue backround suggests they are outside and the blu4 is the sky it looks sunny which is also an indication towards it being the summer.

Facial Expression:

The character looks very scared like she is crying for help as she is crying and her mouth is open like she is quivering out of terror. Her facial expression suggests that it is a ' summer gone wrong' something bad as happened which is intriguing and makes the audience want to find out why she is so scared.

Font Style:

The font style for the title is in all capitals and is the same font style as the popular horror film "hereditary" which suggests that there is a strong horror element in this film as well as the font style just being generally creepy.

What do these tell you about the film, genre, character or possible narrative?

It tells you that the film is a horror film or a mystery film, the film might have unexpected scary things in the character in the poster is the main character and she went somewhere with her friends during the summer where something terrible happened.

Comments

  1. This is an excellent first analysis Jasmine! Well done.
WWW: you've identified all the different elements used
EBI: you try to use the term 'connotes' or 'connotations' instead of 'suggests'.
